Collection & Metadata Management

Use: Click manage in the top menu bar, then click the collections button in the Site sidebar.

Collection Creation

Use: Click the boxes at the top of the page to create a tag, issue, book, or conference collection. Type the name of the collection. Then press enter.

Collection & Metadata Editing

Use: Click the name of the tag in the list of collections.

Tags

For creating lightweight collections, typically to group Pubs by topic (i.e. neuroscience) or by type (i.e. opinion).

Contents

Use: All changes in this section save automatically.

  • Drag the Pubs you want in the tag from the left panel to the right panel.

  • To reorder the Pubs, drag them using the 8-dot drag icon to the left of the Pub list item.

  • To remove Pubs from the collection, click the x icon to the right of the Pub list item.

Details

Use: All changes in this section save automatically.

  • Title: The name of the tag, including how it will display on Pubs and in search results. Required.

  • Link to page: sets the Page that the tag should link to. When selected, Pubs that have the tag applied will show a clickable icon that links to the Page selected. Default: none

  • Private: sets whether the tag can be seen and applied by non-admins. When selected, tags can only be seen and set by Community Admins. Default: false

  • Delete: Permanently deletes the tag. Pubs added to the tag are not affected.

Issues

For creating serial (journal, magazine, etc.) issues, where each Pub is an article of the issue.

Use: All changes in this section save automatically.

  • To add Pubs to the issue, drag the Pubs you want to include from the left panel to the right panel.

  • To reorder the Pubs, drag them using the drag icon to the left of the Pub list item.

  • To change the type of content a Pub represents, click the type dropdown to the right of the Pub list item. Default: Article.

  • To remove Pubs from the issue, click the x icon to the right of the Pub list item.

Attribution

The attribution section allows you to add contributors to the issue’s citation and metadata deposits who do not appear in the attribution on individual sections.

Use: Start typing a contributor’s name in the add new person input box. Click on their name when it appears to add them to the contributor list. Contributors are automatically saved.

  • Contributor ordering: drag contributors from the drag icon. Contributors will show in the order you set in author lists in citations and repositories.

  • List on byline: coming soon, will add the contributor as a byline author across all Pubs in the collection in citations and metadata deposits. Default: false.

  • Roles: adds a role to the contributor in citations and metadata deposits. Choose from the existing list or create a new role by typing it and clicking the role in the dropdown. Default: none

Metadata

The metadata section allows you to customize the metadata that will appear in citations and metadata deposits for Pubs within the collection.

Use: Make changes to text and click save changes at the bottom of the form.

  • DOI: The Crossref DOI for the issue. Click ‘Get DOI’ to the right to generate one. This action is permanent and has the effect of submitting the book to Crossref.

  • URL: The URL for the issue. Default: a search page for the collection or, if 'Link to Page’ option is set in Details, the page the collection links to.

  • Print ISSN: The print ISSN for the issue.

  • Electronic ISSN: The electronic ISSN for the issue.

  • Volume: The issue’s volume.

  • Issue: The issue’s issue number.

  • Print publication date: The print publication date for the issue. Format: YYYY-MM-DD.

  • Publication date: The publication date for the issue.

Details

Use: All changes in this section save automatically.

  • To change the type of content a Pub represents, click the type dropdown to the right of the Pub list item. Default: Chapter.

  • To remove Pubs from the book, click the x icon to the right of the Pub list item.

  • To remove Pubs from the conference, click the x icon to the right of the Pub list item.

Hi, I'm confused. How to add page number on metadata issues collection for each publication? I do not find it. Please help
